Visualizing Adoption Abolition Virtual Workshop

In collaboration with the BIPOC Adoptees conference, Mila Konomos (@the_empress_han) and Lina Vanegas (@linaleadswithlove) are hosting an online workshop for those who cannot attend the conference, but would like to be in Community.WHO: Adoption Survivors of Color + Global Majority

WHAT: “Visualizing Adoption Abolition” Community Building Workshop
WHEN: Saturday July 27 @ 3:00-4:30 PM ET
WHERE: Online via Google Calendar + Zoom. They will facilitate a group conversation imagining a world without family separation. They will provide an intro that contextualizes adoption abolition and act as facilitators providing prompts, questions, and discussion. But the main focus will be building a tangible vision of what abolition looks and feels like. They ask participants to bring crafting and writing supplies to the session—magazines, paper scraps, journals, writing utensils, stickers, paper, glue, markers, etc. to create visualizations of adoption abolition.

They are accepting donations - pay what you can. Details are on the registration page. But no BIPOC adoptee will be turned away. Please feel free to reach out to Mila or Lina with any questions. They look forward to this workshop together and envisioning a world that provides access to the support and resources that every family and community needs!
