NAAM Gala and Auction
Our recent gala and auction was a celebration of resilience, connection, and the transformative power of community. We gathered with a shared purpose: to build a world where BIPOC adoptees can access spaces that honor their stories, foster healing, and empower them to lead meaningful, fulfilled lives. Our mission is rooted in addressing the systemic disregard, isolation, and silencing of adoptees by offering a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for connection, storytelling, and growth. Together, we envision a world where adoptees can live authentically, creating positive change in their lives and communities.
Reclaiming NAAM for BIPOC Adoptees
This November, we’re flipping the script on National Adoption Adoptee Awareness Month (NAAM). Originally centered on promoting adoption, NAAM has often silenced adoptee voices, placing adoptive parents and industry narratives above adoptees and birth families. At our event, we reimagined NAAM from an adoptee-centered perspective, bringing forward the authentic experiences of BIPOC adoptees and empowering them to reshape narratives that have historically overlooked their voices.
A Night of Celebration and Impact
The evening was filled with inspiring storytelling, live music, dynamic performances, and a vibrant community of allies and supporters. Attendees enjoyed an exquisite dinner and drinks, all while participating in an engaging auction to raise funds for essential programming for BIPOC adoptees. This night was more than a fundraiser; it was a gathering to amplify marginalized voices and build collective strength, fostering an empowered future for adoptees.
