What makes me Chinese? Asking for an adoptee
This video reviews how Anica (she/they) felt growing up as a Chinese adoptee adopted by two adoptive white mothers. Their sense of control felt out of reach, especially when it came to being racially and culturally stereotyped. She learned that she couldn’t control other people, but could focus on how she responded.
